How to Form a New Twig
Twigs are a branch of the Women's Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital. Each Twig supports the Women's Association mission to promote quality healthcare within the community through service projects and fundraising in support of Morristown Memorial Hospital.
The genesis of a Twig is generally a group of women having the common goal of supporting Morristown Memorial Hospital while gathering with friends and neighbors. These community-based groups meet regularly in members' homes to both socialize and plan activities. Meetings take place at the date, time, location and frequency of the group's design. Many Twigs meet once monthly between September and June.
Each Twig, with the support of the Women's Association, plans and executes fundraisers or service projects of their own choosing within the mission of the Association. Some past Twig service projects include: decorating the Hospital and Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute for the holidays, providing spring baskets for pediatric patients at the community clinics, providing meals for families of patients and fabricating procedure dolls for pediatric patients. Twigs have held a variety of fundraising events including vendor sales, art sales, road rallies, themed parties and auctions. Twig groups direct their fundraising proceeds to the Hospital equipment, program or project of their choice through the Women's Association.
